I don't understand football managers sometimes. I certainly don't get why Capello picks the teams he does. Why does Heskey get so many games? I'd pick Defoe over him every time. Why didn't he take Paul Robinson instead of Green? At least Paul Robinson has a lot of experience and would have made a good understudy to David James. Here's the team I would pick against Algeria:
Code:
--James--
--Johnson-- --Terry-- --Dawson*-- --A. Cole--
--Lampard-- --Barry-- --J. Cole --
--Gerrard-- --Rooney--
--Defoe--
*Okay, I was stumped here. Carragher and Terry aren't a good partnership (no pace), I plumped for Dawson over Upson (I'd play King if he wasn't injured).
The point would be to get A. Cole and Johnson bombing up and down the flanks, supported by Lampard and J. Cole. Barry would hold. Gerrard and Rooney would sit between the midfield and Defoe.
I think it would be a very attacking line-up and quite flexible.
